FSCNY is partnering with the Census Bureau to help promote the fullest-possible level of participation by our members’ customers.

As you know, the U.S. Census Bureau is currently conducting the 2010 census. Unfortunately, our customers represent a segment of the population that is typically undercounted. To help ensure their fullest possible participation, FSCNY is partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau to help promote the Census.

Census workers will put up posters (which come in different languages), provide collection boxes and other promotional brochures at each store location that agrees to participate.  They will take care of the distribution of related materials.

Participation in the Census is an important means of demonstrating that we are of and for our local communities. It also helps ensure that our area receives its fair share of federal funds for infrastructure projects, social programs and other forms of assistance that benefit the entire community.
